Overview

As part of a broader initiative to improve user control and transparency in a digital banking experience, the project focused on redesigning the Manage Limits feature. This functionality allows users to adjust their card usage limits—such as ATM withdrawals, point-of-sale (POS) transactions, and online purchases.

Research revealed that users often struggled to find the feature, were unsure how their changes would apply, and found the interface for viewing and updating limits unintuitive. These issues led to decreased user satisfaction and increased reliance on customer support for tasks users should have been able to perform independently.

Solution

To address these pain points, I designed a more intuitive and accessible experience for managing card limits across multiple user touchpoints:

  • On the home screen, a prominent “Manage Limits” shortcut was added beneath each card, improving discoverability and encouraging quick access.

  • Within the card details screen, the option was grouped with other primary card actions, reinforcing its importance and making it easier for users to locate.

  • On the limits screen, card limits were broken down into clear categories (ATM, POS, and online), and inline explanations were provided to reduce confusion and help users make informed adjustments.

  • The editing flow was optimized through the use of pre-set options, numeric input constraints, and clear confirmation steps to enhance ease of use and reduce friction.

This redesign resulted in a more efficient and empowering experience, allowing users to confidently manage their financial boundaries without needing external assistance.
